Tokyu Resort Services has just recently confirmed the plans of the next major lift upgrades, in response to the increasing number of tourists.

The current Ace Family Pair Lift was built in November 1983 and the maximum capacity is 1200 people per hour. It will be upgraded to a high speed quad chairlifts this season. The new quad lift will operate at an estimated speed of 5 meters per second, which is almost three times faster than the current double lift operating at 1.8 meters / second. According to Tokyu’s announcement, the new lift can transfer up to 2,400 people per hour, double of the existing lift. The construction of the lift upgrade will be completed in early December, just in time for winter!

The new lift will be upgraded to a four seater. The loading and unloading points will also be changed slightly.

With the new Family Chairlift in place, the congestion problem in front of AYA Niseko and The Vale Niseko will be soothed. It will provide a better skiing experience for everyone - whether you are just a novice skier or a seasoned expert! In addition to the increased capacity and higher speed, the new lifts will be slightly re-positioned. The starting point will be moved slightly higher up the mountain to give more space for the ski schools to conduct lessons. The finish point will also venture upwards to Sennoki Course, increasing the whole slope length from 598.2 meters to 840.55 meters. With the increase in altitude of the unloading point, it also provides guests with easy access to .Base Ski Center and Hirafu’s No.1 Parking Lot.
