Autumn Harvest in Niseko: where to find the best food!
Niseko is a haven for fresh food lovers - when the snow melts, the precious flat land that sits between the mountain ranges is mostly used for farming, and that means when Autumn comes around the harvest is plentiful - there's plenty of delicious produce to enjoy!
Whether you're enjoying the culinary delights made by local vendors at the Niseko Autumn Food Festival, are trying to use the last of the warm weather for BBQing or want to make some scrumptious home made meals in your condominium, you can't beat Autumn for food lovers in Hokkaido.
We've rounded up the 3 best places to find fantastic Autumn food now that the harvest is here:
1. Niseko Autumn Food Festival
Now in it's third year, the festival is bigger than ever, and has a fantastic range of food vendors that are all using the freshest Niseko ingredients. From the famous Niseko Pizza to delicious South-East Asian delights, Japanese favourites and mouthwatering cocktails, you can spend hours here trying some of the best food in Hokkaido at the fraction of the cost. Plus with live music all evening and a bumping after party at Musu, you'll feel the village come alive with Autumn energy at NAFF.

2. Niseko View Plaza
A local's favourite place to shop year-round, this is hands down the best place to get affordable ingredients for your recipes at market cost. Expect to see squash, pumpkins, cherry tomatoes, corn, potatoes, beans, flowers and more all for around 200-300JPY each. It's as farm-to-table as you can get, and for the prices on offer, it's a no brainer to shop here if you want to try some delicious local produce.
3. Kamimura

As the only Michelin-starred restaurant in Niseko, the idea of dining at Kamimura may seem daunting. But with reasonable prices for multi-course fine dining and one of the nicest head chefs around, you'll feel the love when dining here. As any good food artist does, head chef Kamimura-san uses in-season ingredients on his rotating menu, meaning you can taste Niseko's bounty in a way that's perfectly paired, beautifully plated, and expertly prepared. Try the early bird dinner seating for an exquisite meal for less than 10,000JPY or if you're looking for a more casual experience, try the sister restaurant Kitchen by Kamimura in the same building.
