And culture! In late May or early June, Mother Nature densely carpets parts of Hokkaido and a special spot in Kutchan, Mishima-san no Shiba-Zakura", with the bold rich reds, hot pinks, royal purples, blues and whites of Shibazakura. Or, in English, the Moss Phlox.
In collaboration with Mother Nature, local vendors. artisans and restaurateurs populate the "niwasakiichi" street side market. Just a short stroll from Mishima-san's garden.
This month the garden is forecast to be in full bloom, so come by and if you drive be sure to park in Kutchan designated areas. Like the Asahigaokasogo Koen Tamokuteki Park. Just a short stroll to the event.
