Yukitopia Festival!
The Kutchan Town Yukitopia Festival is an annual event. Make sure you are in town on the 19th and 20th of February 2022!
As with any "Matsuri" in Japan there is a lot to do! Family oriented activities such as tubing and snow sculptures are mixed in with the odd spectacle, usually involving high speed and the possibility of getting wet or snowy, make the festival fun for all.

Previous years events included snow tubing, snow sculptues, both on and off site, snowman making, the hilarious and slightly dangerous pond skim, and finally the grown ups have a tube race down the big hill at Asahigaoka Ski Area. (Not for the faint of heart!)
Food stalls are obligatory fare in any festival in Japan. From BBQ to chocolate covered bananas there are many options to keep you fueled and warm for the days activities.
If you are lucky enough to be in the resort during the festival, be sure to stop by for some authentic local culture. You won't regert it! (Buses are often scheduled from the resort to the festival. Please ask our friendly front desk team for assistance.)
