Whether it is a snowstorm coming off the sea of Japan or an exciting new event on the horizon, good things always seem to be brewing here in Niseko – this of course includes coffee!
Here are a few of our favorite places to grab a cup of joe in the snow!
Mountain Kiosk is owned and operated by pro snowboarder Hiromasa “I-chan” Ihara. As a true true, born & bred, Niseko local it's safe to say I-chan knows pretty much everything there is to know about powder – seems this knowledge has carried over into the black, freshly ground coffee powder he uses in his menu of hot & cold drinks.

Good for: a quick cup between runs
Our go-to order: almond croissant & a flat white
Green Farm Café is a favorite of locals & travelers alike & serves up roasty coffee and a varied (and vegan friendly) menu of food options. While the café is open until 5pm, you’ll typically find us there grabbing a bite for breakfast long before the lifts start spinning.

Good for: grabbing a bite and a coffee before first lifts
Our go-to order: mushroom toast & an espresso
Sprout is a great place to unwind after a long day out in the mountains. With a rotating roster of home roasted coffee beans & an ever-changing menu of baked goodies to choose from, you’re sure to find something you’ll like.

Good for: reading a magazine, rubbing elbows with fellow outdoor enthusiasts
Our go-to order: cappuccino with haute route beans
Venture out to Niseko Town to refuel at The POW BAR café, a cozy café with various sweet treats and savory dishes. While you’re there, grab a few of their namesake snacks to stash in your backpack or jacket – great to munch on while on the chairlift or in the backcountry.

From Kyoto to the world. This coffee phenom with a love for design and travel has expanded from a coffee farm to a JP powerhouse purveyor of coffee and style. Loved by the Instagram world, they make a good cup of java when all is said and done.

Good for: Selfies and a quick cup on your way up or down the street

Hana1 Cafe has been a local institution since 2009. Perfectly located steps from the lifts at the Hanazono resort, espresso and other hot drinks with an added kick can be had. Does hot chocolate count as coffee? How about cheese toasties?
