New Sushi Restaurant 'Sakana Isshin' open in Niseko

The new branch of popular sushi chain Sakana Isshin has opened in Niseko town! The restaurant specialises mainly in sushi, however it makes use of local fresh seafood sent directly from Jutsu-cho for other dishes.

The dining experience

By the time I arrived at 12pm on opening day the restaurant was already full of customers, with a line up outside waiting to get in.

There are 9 meals to choose from for the Lunch menu, all based around delicious fresh seafood. I ordered the “Isshin set”, which includes 6 pieces of sushi, soba noodles and tempura.
 

Upon entering the restaurant I was guided to the counter seats. While I waited for my food to arrive, I watched Mr Itamae’s skilled sushi making and listened to him speak about his craft with passion.
 

My meal has arrived! The sushi is very fresh and well crafted, my personal favorite was the Tuna, it melts in your mouth! The amount for each portion was perfect, with the Tempura flawlessly battered and the mini soba portion tasted fantastic, all for the price of 1,280 JPY - it is an amazing deal for delicious food!

There is a separate area in the restaurant dedicated to seasonal seafood items so you can experience the Sakan Isshin quality in your own home. These products are also perfect gifts for your family or friends.

The menu changes over at 5pm, with dinner slightly differing from the lunch menu. The dinner service offers more izakaya style dishes including sushi, sashimi, grilled fish, various fried foods, steaks and more.

Sakana Isshin is worth the trip alone for the very reasonable pricing for a fantastic Japanese dining experience.  If you make the trip out to this diverse sushi restaurant you won’t regret it!
