「山の気魂」 or 'Spirit of the Mountain' perfectly encapsulates Niseko and its people: strong, proud and patiently waiting to inspire you again upon your return.
The mountains motivate everything we do here in Niseko, and provide for us by supplying the water we drink, the produce we eat and the snow we ride. The warm spirit of the mountain fuels us to wake up every day and go out into the world in search of adventure, and provide for those who visit Niseko, just like the mountains provide for us.

「山の気魂」 is the new campaign spearheaded by Niseko Tourism and supported by the local town councils of Kutchan, Niseko and Rankoshi. With the help of local photographer Aaron Jamieson, they have created a promotional video that represents all we do here in Niseko, and how the spirit of the mountain brings us all together.

Acme Wu, the Marketing Director for Niseko Tourism, says the campaign encompasses the diversity of Niseko.

“The Spirit of the Mountain explains why so many people from all over the world have gravitated to and fallen in love with Niseko. It’s something that everyone shares; it’s the reason people come to visit and it’s the reason people choose to live here. We want visitors from all over Japan – and eventually all over the world – to come to Niseko and feel the Spirit of the Mountain for themselves”.
